VoicyMail is a Chrome extension designed to help users write emails faster through voice input and AI-generated suggestions. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is used.

2. Information We Collect & Process

We collect and store only the minimum data necessary to deliver our services:

  • Email Address — collected when a user upgrades to a paid plan in order to unlock premium features and verify the paid user via OTP verification. We do not use your email for marketing.
  • Anonymous User ID — stored locally in the browser for tracking free usage limits and maintaining session continuity.
  • IP Address — temporarily logged on our backend for rate limiting, fraud prevention, and security purposes when you request an OTP. IP data is not stored long-term or linked to any profile.

3. Use of AI Services

  • Your voice input is transcribed locally using the Web Speech API built into your browser.
  • Only the transcript (text) is sent to our AI service provider to generate email content.
  • You may enable Private Mode to mask sensitive data (like names, emails, phone numbers, dates, locations, and credit card numbers)before the transcript is sent to the AI.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • We do not store or transmit your raw voice/audio data.
  • Transcripts are not stored on any server — they’re processed in real time and discarded after use.
  • Persistent data (like user ID and settings) is stored securely in your browser's local storage.
  • All communication with external services is encrypted using HTTPS.

5. Your Controls

  • You can enable or disable Private Mode.
  • You can clear all local data from your browser.
  • You are never required to provide personal information unless upgrading to a paid plan.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or third parties.

  • Transcripts are shared only with our AI service provider, for generating the requested email output.
  • No transcript or personal data is retained or used for training the AI model.

  • Clear and limited data use
  • No unnecessary permissions
  • No deceptive practices
